My friends are all around me Giving great support Even many strangers Are kind in deed and thought They do their best, their time invest Nothing seems to ease Only time’s the healer Understand that please The ones I love are helpless The pain consumes my day I need their love around me That’s all that I can say In time I will repay them Return the love they’ve shown For now I hope they realise I need some time, my own In time I will recover I need to learn to see The ones I love departed Are always here with me Remember those departed With thoughts and words and deeds But don’t forget the living And don’t neglect their needs I also should remember I too am one not gone To let my life just drift away That truly would be wrong
